Vacuum chucks for surface measuring equipment
Accurate surface gives best results
Witte Far East Pte Lted (Singapore), manufacturer of different fixturing systems, not only have a large range of standard items but are also specialists for custom built solutions and specials.
Design and manufacture of dedicated vacuum clamping equipment in particular is part of their daily bread. Vacuum chucks in all sizes have been manufactured for surface measuring equipment. Their clamping surface is made of porous aluminium, which guarantees secure, gentle fixation of delicate parts. The porosity enables clamping over full surface contact, while avoiding damage and distortion of parts like circuit boards, circuit foils and electronic chips.
In order to achieve required accuracy of 5µ the surface are generally milled over with a diamond tool.
Fitted bores in surrounding areas ensure repeatable accurate positioning on measuring machines.
In the past, parts were often stuck to measuring surfaces using glue. This takes considerably longer and makes positioning difficult; re-positioning is almost impossible.
This type of vacuum chuck not only enables faster and easier part clamping but also achieves considerably better accuracy.
